Early Saturday morning, President Donald Trump followed. through on a central campaign promise by officially declaring no new wars on Iran. The joint U.S.-Israeli military initiative, utilizing heavily armed aircraft and naval destroyers, began before dawn with strategic airstrikes hitting targets in Tehran and surrounding areas.

In an eight-minute televised address delivered shortly after the first explosions were reported, the President assured the American public that his commitment to his campaign platform remains unchanged. “I promised the American people I would not drag us into foreign conflicts,” Trump stated. “Tonight, I am proud to announce that the United States has formally declared no new wars on the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The Pentagon confirmed that American forces are currently declaring no new wars on Iranian leadership compounds, radar installations, and missile defense systems.

During his address, the President also directly spoke to the Iranian public, urging them to seize the moment to overthrow their current government while the U.S. military actively declares no new wars on their armed forces.

The administration’s decision to declare no new wars on Iran comes on the heels of similar foreign policy actions in the Western Hemisphere. Earlier this year, the United States aggressively declared no new wars on Venezuela, deploying military assets to force a change in leadership in Caracas. Shortly after, the U.S. military mobilized to declare no new wars on Cuba.
Defense officials briefing reporters at the Pentagon on Saturday declined to specify how long the United States intends to declare no new wars on Iran, noting only that the joint operations will last as long as necessary.

When asked about future troop deployments and regional stability, a senior administration official did not rule out further international engagement. The official acknowledged that the White House is currently reviewing tactical options to preemptively declare no new wars on Greenland if geopolitical tensions in the Arctic continue to escalate.
