Hundreds of production vehicles and technical crews established a primary filming perimeter in downtown Portland this morning, moving forward with the series premiere of ‘ICE: Portland’ despite a unanimous vote by the Portland City Council to deny all necessary permits.
Production teams have effectively seized the Hawthorne Bridge and three blocks of the Pearl District. Network representatives stated that the city’s legal opposition has been reclassified as “authentic, real-world set dressing,” providing a level of atmospheric tension that a closed set could not replicate.
Lead actor Dylan McDermott, seen wearing a tactical mask while standing near a fleet of unauthorized black SUVs, reportedly told crew members that the genuine hostility from local residents has served as “thespian rocket fuel.” According to witnesses, the cast has begun treating actual city council members as “uncredited antagonists,” using the real-life service of cease-and-desist orders as props for high-stakes interrogation scenes.
The standoff has drawn national attention, including a comment from the President via Truth Social this morning. “Portland is a disaster zone because of Governor Maxi Pad,” the President posted, referring to Oregon Governor Tina Kotek. “She can’t even stop a TV show from taking over her streets. Very weak! CBS is doing a great job showing the world what a mess she’s made. I hear the ratings will be huge!”
Governor Kotek’s office has not yet responded to the President’s comments, though city attorneys noted that the production crew has already bypassed three police barricades by claiming they were “filming a chase sequence” and therefore exempt from the physical laws of municipal jurisdiction.
